[glow=silver,2,300]The slow, steady beat of the two draft dragons filled the air with a gentle hum. The trading caravan they were pulling buzzed with chatter and laughter.
THe solitary escort dragon, a red Scout-class, sighed loudly. His duty was of no use-if the raiders attacked, he wouldn't be enough to stop them. Markashakma was becoming too confident. The two guards on his saddle sighed themselves, but theirs was silent. They were paid to do their job without complaint.
Suddenly, a bolt of ice split the air-leaving the escort locked in position and falling rapidly. Five more Scout-class dragons appeared-but they weren't escorts. Battle scars peppered their scaly hides, and their riders-one to a saddle, one held in each forepaw-all held a lethal weapon.
Sky pirates!
Screams split the air as the last guard was sent spiraling down after the escort, dead. Soon, the two families that had been riding on this caravan were heaved overboard as well. The draft dragons were told to return to their port-without their heavy load, which, once stripped of valuables abnd tradables, was sent down into the coean with a gigantic splash.

"That's the tenth hit this month," groaned a trade route manager. "Pretty soon I won't have any business! We've gotta shut them down."
"No one from Meridia can hope to stop them." A grizzled old man spoke up gruffly. His words were rare, so people always listened to his wisdom. "Only the Prophesied Four will be able to."
"But Marro-they've been predicted for centuries! Why would they come now?" asked a trader who had been hit multiple times. So far, he and one other were the only ones being targeted.
The old man was silent, retreating into his hooded cloak. His icy blue eyes burned into the traders' until, one by one, they looked away.[/glow]
